Obsidian
This rock is called obsidian. It is an extrusive igneous rock that forms as lava cools very quickly on the surface of the earth. It is glass-like and is usually black in color. Some samples have red streaks throughout.
Schist
This rock is called schist. It is a metamorphic rock that has been pressurized and heated for a very long time. Schist contains shiny particles of mica throughout, giving it a glitter-like sheen.
Conglomerate
Conglomerate, a kind of sedimentary rock, is made up of many smaller rocks that have been cemented together by even smaller sediments.
